Nat Dip – Financial and Cost Management

Mark Oosthuizen has 40 years’ experience in the mining industry. He started his career with the Anglovaal Group in 1981 where he gained extensive administration and financial management experience at operational level. He worked for the group at their Loraine Gold Mines, Hartebeestfontein Gold Mines as well as Rhino Andalusite Mine. Mark was transferred to Assmang (PTY) LTD in 1993 and was appointed Financial Manager of Beeshoek Iron Ore Mine and Black Rock Manganese Mines in 1997. In 2008 he was appointed as Senior General Manager of Beeshoek Iron Ore Mine and was responsible for the development of Village Pit and the relocation of employees from the mine village to Postmasburg. He assisted in establishing Beeshoek Mine as the main supplier to AMSA increasing production to 3.5mtpa with an impeccable safety record. In 2018 Mark transferred to Khumani Iron Ore Mine as Senior General Manager, under his leadership Khumani have reached world-class safety milestones as well as improved operational efficiencies.
